Way Too Early NFL Power Rankings

This is the first of my NFL power rankings, and here's how it'll work:

Tier 1- Teams I feel are legit Super Bowl contenders.
Tier 2- Teams I feel are going to be decent or good, but lack something that contenders have.
Tier 3- Teams I feel most likely won't make the playoffs, but have somewhat of an outside shot.
Tier 4- No.

Tier 1

1. New England Patriots
You already know what Brady will give you, but the defense needs to hold up.

2. Green Bay Packers
Defense should improve, and they will be motivated by unfinished business from last year.

3. New York Giants
Defending champs, but will the traditional Super Bowl hangover be there?

4. San Francisco 49ers
They were two fumbled punts away from the Super Bowl, and improved receiving.

5. Baltimore Ravens
Losing Suggs for at least half the season won't affect them as much as some believe.

6. Houston Texans
With Schaub healthy again, Arian Foster, and an underrated D, watch out for them in the AFC.

7. Philadelphia Eagles
They made improvements in the draft on D, and DeSean and LeSean got their contracts.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers
They're older and slower and have some personnel changes, but do not underestimate them.

Tier 2

9. Chicago Bears
Made some big moves on the free agent market and in the draft, but they need a better O line.

10. Atlanta Falcons
With the Saints hit by bounty suspensions, perfect time for the Falcons to take the NFC South.

11. Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning obviously a huge acquisition, but there are serious health concerns.

12. Cincinnati Bengals
Loaded with young talent on both sides of the ball, but not quite ready for the big stage yet.

13. Detroit Lions
Possess an explosive offense, but questions remain about team's discipline and legal issues.

14. New Orleans Saints
Do not be surprised if the Saints use the bounty suspensions as motivation. But, Brees needs a contract.

15. Dallas Cowboys
Improved their secondary with Claiborne and Carr, but as always, live and die by Romo.

16. San Diego Chargers
They most likely won't make the playoffs this year, but Rivers will bounce back.

Tier 3

17. Buffalo Bills
Mario Williams should help, but it's all on the quarterback to produce.

18. Kansas City Chiefs
Team is healthy again, but is in a competitive division with Rivers and Manning.

19. Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton should have another good year, but a lot of work needs to be done on both sides.

20. New York Jets
Rex Ryan stayed quiet this offseason, but it won't help the Jets much.

21. Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback issue needs to be settled in order for this team to have any sort of stability.

22. Tennessee Titans
Still lack some defensive players, and it's only a matter of time before Locker starts.

23. Seattle Seahawks
The big question in Seattle is: How will Matt Flynn fit in the offense?

24. Oakland Raiders
McFadden is healthy again, but there are a lot of holes that need to be filled on both sides of the ball.

Tier 4

25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Made a splash by signing Vincent Jackson away from San Diego, but Freeman needs to bounce back.

26. Washington Redskins
RGIII should be fun to watch, and will have an impact, but he will go through some growing pains.

27. St. Louis Rams
Loaded up in the draft, but with new system, will take a while for Bradford and others to adjust.

28. Miami Dolphins
Should be fun to watch on Hard Knocks with Ochocinco and Mrs. Tannehill, but not on the field.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars
Blackmon is their receiver for the future, but who's gonna throw it to him?

30. Minnesota Vikings
Peterson should be back, but what can Ponder do in Year 2?

31. Cleveland Browns
With Richardson, the Browns' running game should get a boost, but not much else.

32. Indianapolis Colts
Luck has mad talent, and should be great, but too many problems overall to contend.

Think I overrated or underrated a team? Please feel free to let me know in the comments.
